ietag.dll

My web pages, built using Frontpage 2003, have been up and running for over a
year. This month I noticed that when you go to some of my pages, a message
pops up stating "This website wants to run the following add-on:
'ietag.dll'from 'Microsoft Corporation'. If you trust the website and the
add-on and want to allow it to run, click here..."
If you click on the bar it wants to load an Active x control. Why is it
doing this? It does not show up on my other pages. I have not made any
changes to my pages in over a year. How can I find out what is causing this?
How can I make it so that this does not pop up when my customers open up my
web pages? I like a clean simple page that does not make my customers fear
that clicking on something will download the 'unkown' to their compuer.
I posted this in the Frontpage group, but they said to post it here.

Did you get anywhere with this? I found I have the same problem with a site
created in Word about 2 years ago. I did not create the site, I occasionally
add to it when needed. I had considered revamping the site at some
time...but I wasn't ready to do it right now.

It's still a mystery. I haven't got a clue.

This dll provides smarttags functionnality (you know the small dotted
line under date and name in word), using frontpage or word to create
webpages can force the user to install ietag.dll to "use" all the
features of the webpage.
You can open the page using word 2003 and save it as Filtered Webpage,
this will take out all the Office tags of the page.
You can either look at the source of the page (be careful, it hurts to
read msoffice generated html) in order to find the SmartTag and
SmartTagType reference and remove them.

Good luck
