IF and OR nested function

I need to test a cell to see if the cell is blank or if the value is < 0.
Trying:

=IF((OR(A2="",A2<0),1,0)) should return 1 if it is blank or less than 0 and
0 if cell contains a value > 0.

Keep getting an error.

Can you tell me where I am going wrong?

Hi,

It was a parenthesis problem

=IF(OR(A2="",A2<0),1,0)

or to take care of text

=IF(OR(A2="",ISNUMBER(A2<0)),1,0)
