What will it do to Windows XP or do you also have Office XP installed? As
far as Window goes, it shouldn't be a problem at all. If you also have
Office XP installed, you will need to install Office 2000 in a different
directory structure than Office XP, not in Program Files\Microsoft Office,
which is where Office XP is probably installed. Make sure you fully patch
the Office 2000 install (service packs, jet service packs, etc) after you
install it. Also, some of the help files may not install. There is a KB
article that will walk you through manually copying them.

It is recommended to install the oldest version of Office first, then the
new versions. However, I've known it to work the other way around also.
Sometimes you need to do a repair install of the newer version after
installing the older version.
