If I install Powerpoint separately from XPRP, will it update correctly

In a previous question I asked about installing powerpoint from XP Pro, and
I have XP Small business.

Someone suggest I install it using custom setup, and jsut install Power
Point. They said I shouldnt' have any problems?

When I do the update on the office site, does anyone know if this will cause
a problem?
