If I type a number in a cell it doesn't display as I type it once I press enter, it (the number) is

I have tried formatting the cell, removing all formatting and taking off all decimal points etc but I just cannot get the correct number to display - any ideas?

Yes.

Uncheck the 'Display this number of decimal places:' checkbox in
Preferences/Edit (the description of the preference is good, even if
there's no reason I can think of that they changed the label from "Fixed
decimal places").


FWIW: Please put the question in the body of the message - it was
difficult to figure out what you were asking, at least with my
newsreader and the width setting of my windows...
