If the error message isn't in the knowledge base where do you go?

I have been happily using an OEM copy of Otlook 2000 for
acouple of years most recently under XP SP2 - no problems!

Today I get the following message when Outlook opens

"Microsoft Visual C)) Runtime Library"

"Runtime Error!"

"Application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in
an unusual way. Please contact appropriate support team
for information"

Er what is the appropriate support team ( my OEM supplier
is no longer trading !) So I am not aware if I am covered
by microsoft at all.

Anyone out there know the answer, or where to get it from
at a reasonable price.

Seems to me like if its not in the knowledge base (KB)
there isn't an official "answer" yet.

KB does have similar error message re Longhorn and
another program taking about registry keys - never gone
there - don't want to start really.

Any genii out there?

Thanks for the speedy response. I hadn't tried those
things but have now done a reinstall. The only difference
this has made is that the EULA window is on the screen
when Outlook opens up but this again overridden by the
same message, nothing else works, with the possible
exception of email being received.

As for add ins - not quite sure what that includes, only
things I can think of might be Inboxer, XTND PC Connect
and perhaps acrobat. Acrobat has been on for quite a
while. Inboxer is quite recent and XTND has been on for 2-
3 weeks without a hitch so far...

Thanks again

Thanks for the earlier comment. I have upgraded the
inboxer add in as recommended by Audiotrieve. It seemed
to take effect OK and passed the pre flight checks.

However this has made no difference to the end result.

Is it certain that a later version of Outlook ie 2003
would correct the problem ?

If I can't get in and run the program what would you
suggest next. I did work out how to transfer the contacts
calendar etc when I recently built the new machine (
eventually)

I had forgoten or was trying to forget that Outlook was
EXCEEDINGLY slow to load up (if at all on the old system
just as I was building the new PC - could this have
transferred with the .pst files & not shown up until now ?

Seems unlikely that was an 850Mhz system running win98SE.
Thanks
