iis and fp2003

Silly Monkey

Hello,

I need help with publishing a website on my local pc. I have IIS 5.1
and FP Server Extension v 4.0 installed on my pc. What I’m trying to
do is make the search feature work on my webpage work so that my
viewers (limited to only my team) can search web pages in that site.
No searching the internet.

Here’s what I’ve done so far.

I have configured IIS to a home directory on this computer and inserted

the path where the web files are stored. Once I did this, IIS was able
to update the IIS console with all the web files/folders under the
Default Web Site.

When I publish my website and open the page in a browser. The first
message I got was, the feature does not work because I needed FP server

extension installed.. but I already installed FP server extension. Then

I went to Administrative Tools  Server Extensions Administrator 
Right Click on my local pc under FP server extension  select Web
 then follow the Server Extension Wizard. Once I did this…I open
a browser window to access the web site, I get page cannot be display
DNS error.

Am I doing way too much stuff or I am not doing enough? Any help is
greatly appreciated…. Like I said, basically all I’m tryingto do
is make the search feature work on the page so that my viewers can
search the site.

Thanks,

lc
