IIS on XP possible?

Hi,

I am told that I will need IIS for a Visual.net programming exercise - but I
believe that IIS is part of the Windows Server and I only have the desktop XP
Professional Edition. Have browsed around the microsoft site and don't see
anything saying that IIS can be loaded onto XP - anybody out there able to
confirm with authority on this?

Appreciated

Thanks you both.... I had actually done the component add per K's reply
before I posted this question. The wizard did its thing - left me with the
"finished"....and so at first I thought I had it......but then I can't find
IIS either in the ALL Programs nor in the Add/Remove. And therefore was
confused as to whether it was loadable onto XP...

So maybe I am just a klutz - where do I find it?

Someone else told me that during the wizard it would prompt me to install
the Windows CD disks - but it never did that prompt.....

Your patience on this is appreciate but it seems to me that IIS would be a
pretty big application so am surprise the Wizard did its thing so fast and am
not able to find it listed as software like Word or Access etc.....

It is accessible via Control Panel | Admin Tools | IIS MMC

It is not an application. It is a service.
