IIS

I am looking for IIS for XP (Home Edition).
You used to be able to find a free version on Microsoft.
I can't even find a version to buy any more.
Where is it?

Hi,
not supported on home I'm afraid. Best bet is to upgrade to xp pro then IIS
comes on the cd. If you don't have the budget there's some kind of hack to
get iis going on home edition. Do a google search and you should be able to
find it - looks pretty nasty though.

I am not sure that I can install xp pro on my laptop.
Does MS have a place where you can purchase XP pro on-
line? Can't seem to type in the right key words to find
a download of IIS in Google, so I posted request here.

I had IIS on my old machine running win98. Maybe it was
on the MSDN developer disks. But I can't seem to figure
out which disk it is on.

You can purchase WinXP pro from your favorite online or local software
store, but it's not downloadable.

You need XP Pro to run the IIS web server. Or, download a copy of Apache
web server for windows, but it will not support FP server extensions if you
need those for anything.

As Jon said, there is a hack if you can find a copy of IIS 5.1 (not
downloadable) but it's very risky.
