Hello. I have Windows XP HOME and Office XP PRO. So, I have Front
Page, and (apparently) no ability to use Server Extensions - since I
don't have IIS.
After spending a fruitless few hours on Microsoft's site trying to get
IIS (which Mr. Gates apparently WON'T EVEN SELL YOU - unless you go with
XP PRO), I am as clueless as when I started. All I want to do is the
seemingly simple thing of password protecting a page, which sounds like
doing the simple thing of creating a one-page subweb, where I could then
simply set the permissions, off the Tools/Server options, which of
course is grayed out - and seems determined to stay that way forever.
Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks,
-Larry
