illegal instruction fault

Greetings Folks,
I am (was) using word 6.0 on XP. Now when I
open word a pop-up say:

Winword caused an illegal instruction fault in
WINWORD.EXE at 0x00000030.
close to terminate the application.

Is there anyone who can advise me to get
Word working like before?
