Image as Background

Hi
i think I once saw that someone scanned a formula document
and used it as a background. He then positioned the fields
according to the background and hence could use it .
I think it was excel. Maybe word. Anyway:
Is this possible with excel?
How?
Thanks

Kay

Hi Kay -

little_creature's info is accurate, but be aware that the Background is used
*only* for on-screen display & web pages - it *doesn't* print. If you are
looking to have the graphic content print behind the content of the sheet
(as in 'watermark') you need to insert the image in a custom Header or
Footer.

Hi Kay,

Mac Excel has two different ways to get a picture into the background.

The way that has been mentioned by others (Format > Sheet > Background) is
common to both Mac and Windows Excel.

Mac Excel also has the ability to put a picture into the header (much like
Word does). Use View > Header and Footer. Click the Header Options or
Footer Options button. In these options you'll find an Insert Picture button
that does not exist in Windows Excel as far as I know.

Hi Jim -

Just a friendly FYI - 2003 definitely does & I think 2002 (XP) had it as
well, can't remember about 2000 :)

Ain't it the truth???!!! - I often wonder if MS acquired a program called
"Wingz" somewhere along the line, then changed the name.
NO! Wingz was an excel competitor long after Excel was around. Excel started
on the Mac a MultiPlan. Excel 1 was wholly contained on a 1.44Mb floppy.
