Image "hot spots" in MS Word 2002

Rebecca

Greetings.

How do I create hot spots (hyperlinks) on images that I
have inserted into an MS Word 2002 document? This, I
understand, can be done in FrontPage, but can it be done
in MS Word 2002? If it is possible, could you please
explain how it is done in easy English. Thanks.

Rebecca:

1. Select the Image
2. Select Insert . . . Hyperlink from the Toolbar (Ctrl+K)
3. You can set your Hyperlink to Web Pages, Other Docs, or to Bookmarks in
your current document.

Gotcha! Image Maps.

Hot Spots - Easily done in Word - No.

Do-able though. This is a tedious task:

1. Create Graphic Figures (rectangle, etc from the Drawing Toolbar) over
your image and set the Fill and Line Colors to None.
2. Set the hyperlink for the Figure (Hot Spot).

This should stay intact if you are saving as a Word Doc. If you export to
HTML the graphic layers become individual images.
