Image size changes from Photoshop to ppt

I've noticed every time we create art in PhotoShop and import it into
PowerPoint, the size of the image changes. Specifically, it seems that a 1"
square box in Photoshop becomes a slightly larger (about 10-15%) box.
Any ideas what causes this? Is there a constant (K) formula we can use to
reliably create images in Photoshop that can be brought into ppt at a
predictable size?

Jerry,

which version of PowerPoint do you use? In older versions (PPT 97 and 2000),
Microsoft used it's own "Microsoft Inch", which measured only 2.4 cm (while
the real world inch is 2.51 cm), to make conversion into metric system
easier.

In newer versions of PowerPoint (2002 and 2003) this was corrected.

Could that be the reason?

Jerry,

It's my thinking that powerpoint hazards a guess as to what size to display
a bitmap when you first insert it on to a slide.

At the end of the day, for on-screen presentations, the important thing (in
terms of quality) is the number of pixels.

Jerry,

There is a plug-in for Photoshop that exports whole design directly
into PowerPoint, preserve layers (every layer is exported as a separate
clip-shape) and correctly size and position clips on the PowerPoint
page.
Take a look at:

Thanks all.
For the record, I use ppt 2002 and photoshop 7.
Several indicated that image size in ppt wasn't important.
Sometimes, size is important.
Thanks again.
