images and another server

Bacchus

Hi,

Just wondering how do I get FP to find the images on a server when I want to
use them. Do I have to put the code in myself or is there an easier way to
do this? I have the images hosted so now I need to guide FP there.

thanks

Use the insert image and then browse to the site with the images.

Keep in mind that if you are using a free hosting service for these images, they rarely allow you to
store images on their servers that you then link to from another web site.

The best option is to keep the images within your current web, that way FP can manage the links to
them if you move or rename them, if they are outside of your web, then FP can not manage any links
to them or any other external content.

I do not see insert image. I see insert>picture, but I see no option to
browse to the hosted image.

I am trying to spruce up my ebay store pages so I need to grab the image
from another server? IS this correct?

It depends on the server that you have the images on, are you paying for this web spaces, if not
then you need to check the term of use.

Insert Picture / Image are the same thing.

Depending on your version of FP, at the bottom you should see a URL field and then to the right of
that you will see a globe, that let's use your browser to browse to the image. Now again depending
on the version of FP, you will be prompted to save the image into your web, you will need to say no.

You have to insert images into your web pages with Insert > Pictures > from file
(after importing them).

Is that what you mean? Your subject line is a bit vague.

What do you mean "images and another server" ??

Linking to images that are not on your own server? That is not good practice if
they are someone elses images - it is stealing their images and their bandwidth
because their server is accessed everytime a request is made for an image on that
server.
