Images appearing as Red X

Any ideas about how to proceed when working pages with
images suddenly start displaying red x's no matter what
you do to correct. Rebuild page, etc. Nothing seems to
work within current directories. New directories don't
have the problem. And version on remote host okay too.

URL?
Obvious question is... did you import the images into the site before using
them on your page. Look at your code ... are they pointing to the site's
image folder or another place on your hard drive?

Ironically, they are from images on my hard drive which is
why it is so confounding. I have sevral thousand images in
both rmote and local folders on a dozen or more sites.
Everything has worked fine until yesterday.
