Images disappear suddenly after installing printers

?

.

I'm using Publisher 98' and 02' with WinXP. Since installing a printer, sometimes, images disappear (blank white box
suddenly for no reason while editing. There's no specific action that causes it and no information in the help file
When I select print, occassionally, it will ask if I want to convert the images to a compatible format. Sorry, I can'
remember the exact message because it doesn't always display it. I've used it with 3 different printers. It is no
because I'm using files created with 98' in 02'. I waste so much time editing important images then Publishe
deletes them randomly and there's no way to get them back. This is very frusturating. I've successfully printe
some pages, but nearly all. Publisher 98' and 02' are acting strange. They work when they want to. I think WinX
definitely has something to do with it, but don't have time to backup everything and reinstall Win98

Help would be appreciated

PS: Oh... Recently, I've applied for a product developer position paying $140K + commission, and I promised thi
company I'd have examples available, but I can't. Now, they think I'm giving them "dog-ate-my-homework" excuses
More than likely, I won't get the job because of this.

Publisher is more demanding on printers than other Office products. It also saves all
printer information with each publication, could be the file is looking for the old
printer driver. Disable your new printer before opening Publisher, open your
publication and then choose the new printer.

Might try in safe mode, none of the drivers will be loaded, if this works then you
know your printer driver(s) are at fault. There maybe an updated driver on the
manufacturer's web site.
Try an updated graphics driver too.

Thanks for responding. Most of the files were created after installing my printer. Publisher
also deletes an image when I try to rotate it. This may be because XP does not support a special
rotation algorithm, which are usually implemented in hardware. Since installing WinXP,
I've noticed all kinds of strange problems. For example, MS Paint has a tendacy to delete lower
sections of images. Not in response to any particular action. Just by itself. I will try disabling
and enabling the printer and checking for an updating driver.

The issues you describe are unknown. Publisher has never deleted any images
in any file, in any version of Publisher.

There are no issues whatsoever running any version of Publisher on XP.

I have Pub97, running on Windows XP. When I inserted clip
art, images disappeared upon printing. Not sure where I
picked this up as another problem solution, but I've
found that, after inserting object into publication, do
an "Edit - Cut" and then an "Edit-Paste Special" and then
move the object into desired place--the object
now "sticks" and does not disappear after doing a Print.
Hope this helps.

Bob this is either a video driver or more than likely a printer driver
issue.

What you describe is unknown in Publisher 97 and Publisher 97 has no issues
running on XP whatsoever.

Many of us here have Publisher 97 running on XP including myself.
