Images have disappeared!

I recently noticed that one of my webpages is only displaying only 5 of the
24 thumbnail photos that are on it. This page has been on my site for years
with no recent changes but suddenly the photos won't display. I'm totally
dumfounded as to the cause because they show up in the html, are located in
the correct folders on the server, etc. I have even gone so far as to
recreate an identical page with a different filename using the same photos
and again, only the same four show up while the others remain hidden. I've
tried adding the photos to a page that has no display problems and the photo
that I add does not show up while all the others look fine.

If I preview the page in FrontPage 2002, it looks fine as well as if I
preview it in the browser. When I look at it online there are blanks spaces
where the thumbnails belong.

I hope someone might have some ideas as to how to correct this problem. Here
is the link to the errant page:http://nestbox.com/bbphotos.htm. This is VERY
FRUSTRATING since mine
is largely a photography site. I have been forced to remove this page from
public view.

Any ideas/solutions appreciated.

Thanks,
Cate

Hi Cate,

Clear your Temporary Internet Files or Cache Files in the browser that is
not displaying the images. Either the image files (stored by your browser)
or the index to them (also stored by your browser) has become corrupt).

I can't believe it but thanks for checking for me. Now, how do I see these
photos on all three of my home computers (two desktops and one notebook)?
I've cleared cookies and Temporary Internet files including offline files.
The page still appears incomplete when I check it online. I can't find any
reference to "cache" files. What am I doing wrong?

I see all of them too.

Glenn,

That's the correct number now as I made some changes to the page today. In
fact, I redid the whole page and uploaded it to my server with the 17
thumbnails. Frustratingly, I can still see only the top row of four in my
browser when online. The offline preview looks totally normal. I've been
using FrontPage for years and have never encountered this problem before.

Cate:

Unlike the others that have responded, I only see 5 pictures - all in the
first row.

I am using MSIE 6.0 with the SP2 update version on the Windows XP platform..

The full description of the version is:

6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158

Colin,

Thanks. Now I know I'm not losing my mind! I just checked my version and it
matches yours. I'm also using XP with the SP2 update. I installed SP2 about
two weeks ago but don't really know when this display problem started.

Suddenly (about 15 minutes ago) I can see all the pictures online again on
my desktop computer but the other two computers in the house (all with the
SP2 upgrade) cannot. This is so weird.

This particular newsgroup doesn't receive much traffic. I suggest you post
your problem to the following newsgroup which is very active and has people
who appear to be very knowledgeable about Front Page:
