Images in document not visible with document layouts in Word 2007

Hello,

Maybe this is a very naive question, but this has me puzzled since quite
some time now.

I have Office 2007 installed and I have noticed that none of the images
in the Word document are visible in any of the document layouts except
the Reading Layout. Initially I thought this to be a compatibility issue
(that is, I am trying to open a Word 2003 document in Word 2007) only,
but I noticed recently that it is the case with docx files as well!

What could be the reason for this seemingly strange behavior in Word? Is
it due to some configuration setting I missed? Any help is very much
appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,
Sanchet

In Word 2007, click on Office Button | Word Options | Display | check
the boxes for "Print drawings created in Word" and "Print background
colors and images" | Advanced | scroll down to the "Show document
content" section, check the boxes for "Show background colors and images
in Print Layout view" and "Show drawings and text boxes on screen", and
uncheck the "Show picture placeholders" box | OK.

Hi Garfield,

Thank you very much; it worked! While the other settings made sense, do
I have to uncheck "Show picture placeholders"? What is it meant for?

Sanchet
