layala

I am new to java. I am learning it on my own. i wrote a program that
had an image in it. It would not work. I went home and came back
after the week end and the image was there. The next day I came back
and the image was not there. The box is always there.

Not true. Sun Java VM is now available (and has been for quite some time).
Many of the latest purchased computers, such as those from Dell over the
past couple of years, come with Sun JVM installed.

Yeah...but you have to download it first. Previously, Windows (and Internet
Explorer) included its own version of java before MS was sued by Sun. These
days XP doesn't have ANY version of Java, so what Eleanor said is
true....from a certain point of view.

It's a Windows Update, which is an automatic download and install.
