IMAP and "resend message" function

I'm using Outlook 2003 SBE to access my IMAP mail server. I've setup rules so
that Outlook puts a copy of all outgoing mail into my "sent items" folder on
the IMAP server.
So far so good.
Now, when I go to my "sent Items" folder and open up a message, I can resend
the message. After editing it for resend, I press the send button, and
Outlook comes up with a message saying "Microsoft Outlook does not reconize
{my name} Choose the adress to use", and I have to scroll through my contact
list to find myself, and choose me as sender.
The name popping up as {my name}, is the name I put in as my name when
setting up my account. It seems Outlook with IMAP sets up the NAME of the
sender rather than the E-MAIL ADDRESS of the sender as sender when sending
messages. Is this a bug?
Another way of getting rid of the issue, is to set the name in the account
setup to be EXACTLY like my own contact information in my contats.
Any ideas how to get rid of this?
By the way, I have to say that Outloook is a great product, but the people
at Microsoft should make a product that works proprly with standards like
IMAP, and not only with Exchange.

I am not sure what to do about your problem, but Outlook 2007 has
markedly improved IMAP support, incl. a default ability to store sent
items on the server.
