Hi,
Im trying to use Microsoft Outlook 2007 with an IMAP email server. It
doesnt seem to function correctly with the Idle extension.
The idea of the Idle extension is that the server notifies the client
when changes are made rather than poling the server every few minutes
for changes (I have say 10000 emails so i cant be checking every
one !).
This feature works perfectly in outlook express (and other non
microsoft email clients). Hoever it doesnt work in outlook 2007! The
email just doesnt show up.
After sniffing the packets being sent, I can see that the server is
telling the outlook client that a new email is there however Outlook
does nothing about this... it should ask to fetch it !
Is there any fix to this? or do I have to through my copy of outlook
in the bin ?
