Well it means that either your login or your password is wrong.
What's the question??

Hello -

i have been getting this error as well, it is on a new account, attempting
to connect through IMAP to our own server.

the account details are not incorrect. i have deleted the account and
recreated from scratch with the same and differing details, no joy.

please advise, bet.

Getting the correct advanced setting is sometimes tricky. You'll need to set
the correct security settings from the options.
