IMAP problem via Outlook

Multiple users I look after are connecting to an IMAP e-
mail server via Outlook which is creating a small
problem. Random new e-mails repeat themselves up to 3
times with an additional 10 hours added to them of when
it arrived. i.e e-mail marked arrived as 10:00am will
have a repeated e-mail downloaded to the inbox as 8pm
that same day. Strange thing is that the original e-mail
shows as deleted but not yet purged.

The repeated e-mails always show a 10 hour addition to
the original e-mail arrival time.

Any solution to fix this problem apart from changing to a
different e-mail client such as Eudora which hasn't had
this problem?

Thanks.

Sorry. What I meant was that the original e-mail was
automatically deleted without any user intervention and a
repeated e-mail showing an arrival time of +10 hours
turns up in the inbox immediately after the deletion. I
already know the frustrating problem of having to delete
and purge all the time which hopefully will be fixed by
MS in a patch one day.

No, there is no fix, except for the users to purge deleted items.

I connect to a Unix IMAP server. It might be the case
that the server has the error and Outlook has a certain
way of synching the inbox that picks up the error???
