Imap synchronization problems with sent items

Dhruv

Hi,

I am using Microsoft Outlook 2002. I have an Imap account. When I
send a message it automatically puts it in the sent items in the local
outlook account instead of the imap account.

Is there a way to automatically put the messages you send in the imap
account "Sent" folder?

Thanks

use this method: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=198852 (regardless of
version). I recommend leaving sent option to save sent items in the sent
folder enabled and delete them later.

I have an Outlook profile with 2 accounts, Exchange and IMAP. I understand
that a copy of sent IMAP messages are kept in the local .pst. However, do you
know if a copy of this sent IMAP message is also sent to the Exchange server?
Is any information sent to Exchange if I send a message from an IMAP account.
FYI, I am not using Exchange as the SMTP server in my IMAP account.
Thanks,
Fergal

If the exchange mailbox is the default store, sent items are copied to the
server.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the article. Unfortunately, it is not working.

I can only do it when I say Run now AFTER the rule has been created.

But when I just send a regular message the rule doesn't execute to put
a message from the Sent Items folder to the Sent (IMAP) folder.

Please let me know what else is wrong.

Thanks
