Imbedding Audio Into PowerPoint

R

Rick Taborda

Hello. I have a problem imbedding audio files into a PowerPoint presentation
and I hope someone can help me. I will explain what I am trying to do,
followed by what is actually happening.

What I am Doing:
I am trying create a tutorial using PowerPoint with audio. I have recorded
all the audio files in Windows Sound Recorder and the have the extension
..wav, whic should work with PowerPoint. I have created all the slides for
the presentation, with some animation effects. I have tried to imbed the
audeo files into each slide and it appears as if I have done it. I have
chosen to begin each audio file at the slide transition and it seams to work
fine on the computer I created the presentation with.

What is Happening:
After creating the presentation and imbedding the audio files the
presentation seams to work fine but when I copy the presentation to a CD ROM
the audio files are not included for some reason. The presentation will not
work on any computer that was not used to create the presentation, at least
the audio will not work.

Things I have Tried:
* I used the insert function on the menu bar to choose the audio file.
* I have copied and pasted the audio file directly the slides.
* Others have created presentations, with audio and had the same result I
have had but they used different computers.
* Another person helped by creating a "Pack and Go" version of a
presentation but it requires the user to create a folder and choose that
folder after they click on the .exe file on the CD ROM. This is too
complicated for people who do not understand how to create a folder. Also,
the users computer already had PowerPooint on it so this should not have
been a requirement to view the presentation.

I would appreciate anyone's help who has run into this same problem and
found a solution.

Thank you very much

Rick,

WAV files...that's good. They are the only type of audio file that can be embedded into powerpoint.

What you need to do is either
a) put the wav files in the same folder as your .ppt file BEFORE you insert > audio > from file
or
b) change the "embed sounds small than x size" in tools options.....

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email a presentation
