Please advice:
We have a large office2003 ms-access database frontend on a server in
a hospital running more then 10 years.
'-- ------------------------------------
The user gets his local copy of the frontend on either a C-drive or on
a shared networkdrive.
A complex inbetween MDB does the job: relinking tables, setting
hyperlinkbase, reading security settings on a server MDW etc etc This
situation was stable for over a year.
'--
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
However last weeks problems occur: some of the users on the shared
network drive can only open the local mdb for 1 or 2 times, thereafter
the database hangs on simple object.caption = "some text" actions
(the windows users do not experiance any problems)
The MsysObjectstable contains approx 6000 records
We decided to create a new frontend and import all objects. This
prevented the error messages.
However the securtiy settings ar messed up, HOW SHOULD WE IMPORT
CORRECTLY THE OLD SECURITY SETTINGS
Please advice
