Import archive.pst

Running Outlook 2003 and Windows XP...

An archive.pst was created and backed up to a CD. I recently tried to
restore messages from the archive.pst backup. These are the various ways
I've tried, and so far, none worked:

- File/Open in Outlook
- Import and Export in Outlook
- Tried replacing the existing archive.pst file the the old archive.pst from
the CD backup.

In all ways tried, I get a message that says the file "is not a personal
folder file (.pst)". Please note that a copy of the file I'm trying to
import IS on my hard drive, AND I did uncheck the "read-only" check box in
the file properties.

Any suggestions for me? Anyone? Anyone?
