import email address from excel..

Trying to Import Excel sheet into existing table in Access 2003 with email
address as [email protected] as a column. The receiving Access table column is
defined as datatype hyperlink. After Import, clicking on field in Table view
does not open email (though one I had hard-coded in Access as
#http://[email protected]# did open).

I tried appending the #http://xx# in both Access and Excel, but still would
not open after Importing.

Any ideas greatly appreciated!

The default protocol for the hyperlink datatype is http://

It is more efficient to import the Excel data as text. In the code to send
mail use:

Dim strEmail As String
strEmail = "#MailTo:" & Me.txtYourEmailField & "#"
Application.FollowHyperlink HyperlinkPart(strEmail, acAddress)
