Import Enterprise Resources Wizard

B

Brenda Barnard

We are in the process of configuring Project Server 2003. I have read that
the best way to put enterprise resources into the system is by using the
Import Enterprise Resources Wizard. I have two questions: Has anyone used
this for loading resources into Project Server and did you encounter any
issues? And, second, documentation recommends that you put your resources
into a mpp file and then load it through the wizard. What information did
you include in the mpp file?

Thanks, Brenda

Using the Import Resources to Enterprise wizard may be the simplest way if
your resources already exist in a single file such as a shared resource
pool. If they do not already exist in a single file, then it may be the
simplest to to type them into the Enterprise Resource Pool. No matter how
you do it, you will still need to set the correct values for your
organization's custom enterprise Resource fields and outline codes for every
resource in the Enteprise Resource Pool. Let me know if this helps, or if
you have more questions.
