Import Entourage

I have a recently had to re-install my Mac OS X (10.3.9) system because of
some system problems that resulted in freezing my system. The problem seems
to have effected my e-mail in Entourage (it freezes, asks to send an error
report and quits).

I made a backup copy before re-installing the system. I then re-installed
Entourage and made a new e-mail account. Is there any way of resurrecting
the old e-mail by importing?

If not by importing, how can I?
