Hi Nisha,

As I know, it's not possible to import only selected tasks from
template. Just thought, you can do "Save As" your template as new
project in server. Later, you can remove those unwanted tasks from
project plan.

Thanks

The danger with using copy and paste or cut and paste with an enterprise
project is caused by selecting the row ID numbers, which selects the entire
task and many, many Task fields you cannot see in the Entry table. A safe
way to accomplish your goal would be to create a new project from the
enterprise template and then to also create a new blank project. In the
template file, select only the Task Name and Duration column date and then
copy it, and then paste that into the new blank project. You will obviously
need to reestablish task links, but at least you have saved yourself some
work. Hope this helps.

Hi Chak,
Actually I can't create a project from the template.
let me explain what I am trying to do.
I will be creating a project with no tasks (blank project) in project server
2007 by using the PISI method in a .NET application i,e I will be creating a
project programatically. This application will not have a UI.So, We can't
select an enterprise template and create a project from that.We have about
10-12 enterprise templates.
Once the project is in project server, a project manager is going to edit
the project in project professional and create tasks. This is the time when I
want them to be able to import or copy the tasks from an enterprise template
without having to type in all the tasks.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Nisha

My advice still stands. There's no really easy way to do this, so I still
recommend copying and pasting the Task Name and Duration information only
for each task from the enterprise template to the new project created by
PSI. Hope this helps.
