Import Timesheet Not Working

Hello,

We are using timesheets in PWA 2007, each week resources import their
timesheets into their tasks and submit all.

The issue is the import isn't workinf for some of the resources, they click
the import button and nothing while for those of us it works for the My task
view redisplays and we can submit and the PM updates, etc.

I checked access and all team members are setup identically.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It could be that they are trying to import time that is either reported at
the project level on their timesheets or for an assignment that the PM has
since removed or re-created in their schedule and published back out.

In both cases, the timesheet entries cannot know where to import into My
Tasks and will not do anything.

I believe that pre-SP1 the system would hang and post-SP1 it just ignores
the activity and looks like nothing happened.

Hope that helps in some way.

Hi Jonahtan,

I'll double check to see if that's how their reporting their time.

But the issue i've seen is when they click the Import button nothing
happens, when it's successful it returns the user to the My Tasks, when it
doesn't work it just sits on the Import Timesheet page.

I have heard that if the timesheet import does not find the correct task UID
to map to (because the task has been deleted in between the time that the
timesheet was created and the time that the timesheet import was attempted)
that you would experience the symptom.

Might be worth researching if this is the case for one of your trouble
timesheets. Do you have access to the SQL database to do some queries? If
not, you can at least verify within the timesheet if task by task, they all
map to the existing project schedule.
