IMPORTANT lost document in word!

So! I have a 40 page paper due on wednesday that my grade AND my
scholarship is dependant on. I was working on it last night with no
problems and saved it. To my shock this morning when i began working
on it again, the shortcut says that it cannot find the file!!!! the
shortcut merely says all the standard stuff, then
appdata/roaming/microsoft/office. thing is i cant see it because it is
hidden, and i dont know how to see it in VISTA. anywho, if anyone has
any idea where it could have moved to, what i should do, or if it is in
that hidden file, PLEASE let me know asap!!!

I have tried multiple searches and autorecovery and used a number of
recovery programs to no avail.

please help!!!

Your default Documents folder is: C:\Users\{Your username}\Documents
That's where you should be saving documents, not in
C:\appdata\roaming\microsoft/office
Why are you not saving documents in your Documents folder?

thats the thing, it was saved in my documents, but somehow when i try t
open the file it says it cant be found. and when i try to open it fro
recent documents in word, it gives me that link to appdata..

i have no idea whats going o

and is that in Windows Explorer in your Documnts folder?

yeah its from the windows explorer window, tho it also doesnt work when
trying to access it from word.
