imported addresses in contacts

Hi, I spent all morning just getting these names and email addresses imported into Outlook from Excel, and now they're sitting in my contacts folder. However, they're not available when I click on "To," nor are they listed on the contact list that's on the tool bar. What gives

Do you have the Outlook Address Book added to your profile? Control Panel->
Mail-> button E-mail Accounts...-> choose to Add a new directory or address
book
