Imported slides format differently

New to PP2007
When I import a slide from an old (PP2000) presentation I loose print
forrmating. I want to use destination formating (new presentation), but the
text ends up smaller and a different color. The background is correct. How
can I overcome this?

You might try reapplying the slide layout. The Layout button is on the Home
tab.
