Hi,

I previously had Office 2004 installed on my Power Mac G4 with Tiger as the OS but now I have a new Intel Mac Pro with Leopard 10.5.2.
The problem I'm having is that Entourage wont allow me to import my previous identity from my G4 because it's grayed out.
Can anyone please give me any clues as to how I overcome this?

Move the Microsoft User Data folder from Tiger to the desktop of Leopard.
Now Entourage should be able to see it.

You can just move over the Office 2004 Identities folder and drop it in your
Microsoft User Data folder. You can have both in the Microsoft User Data
folder. Delete the old one only after you are sure Entourage 2008 is
working. Some users have imported OK only to find in a few days, corruption.
Having the 04 Identity is a good backup.

If import fails for you, you can manually move over your data.

Hi Diane,

Apologies for my late reply.
I did manage to fix the problem by repairing my permissions.
However since then I have had to do a complete system install and start over again.

This leads me to ask which is the correct way to update Office X?
I have the Office 2004 update and when I do the installation it still leaves me with the Office X folder so I end up with 2 versions office?!
