Importing an excel file data into outlook

Hello, I'm trying to import excel data into outlook contacts. I researched
it on the internet and followed directions correctly BUT I keep getting an
error advising that the range is not set.
I've set the range so shouldn't be a problem, BUT the msg box still says I
need to use Microsoft Excel 97-2003 to name the range of data I want to
import since it has no named ranges.

Any ideas or a better way to import data into a new contact list?
