Importing and "File As" field

I am using Outlook 2003. I have set the default "File As" order to Company. I
am importing many contacts from a CSV. Doe this option work for new contacts
that are imported ?

Thanks for your help. As an old programmer, these sort of things make you
scrtach your head and wonder why.
