Importing another outlook PST file - contacts

J

Jeffrey

Right you are. Using the method described in the earlier reply

"NEVER import a .pst file in Outlook! Use Outlook File->Open->Outloo
Data
file. It will open the file as a secondary set of folders that yo
can
expand to drag and drop between your current .pst file folders."

Will this create a second data set? Sorry to still be uncertai
here....
Not sure how to create a second set so the two sets of data do no
mix.
Thank you.

I just did some research - do I just create a second email profile an
bring in the second contact information to the new profile? This wil
keep the two sets separate?

Would this work - for what I describe? This is a Microsoft article.
Thank you

Yes, it creates a new data set but it will not be your default. Anything
you create will reside in your default .pst file. Nothing will "leak" from
the restored .pst file unless you move it to your default .pst file.

Creating a new mail profile to use the old .pst is not necessary.

Rather than continuing to ask questions, why don't you just do it. You can
right click and close teh archive.pst file if you are unhappy and create
another profile to use that .pst file.
