Just checked using Access 2003 saved as Access 2000, and had no problem with
unbound text boxes, nor with bound ones. In fact, setting the format in the
table field carried through to the form, just as I expected.
Don't know why you're not seeing that behaviour. Might be worth creating a
new form, just to see.
