Importing email addresses

J

When I get an email from a contact already within my address book, outlook
doesn't appear to allow me to import the email address. I'm running the
newest version of Outlook.

Any help gratefully received

Thanks

What's the goal? If the person is already in your Contacts, why do you need
to enter him or her again?

The answer to your question is in my question. Their email address isn't in
my address book though perhaps their phone number is.

You don't state that in your original message.

What do you mean by "import"? Why not use copy/paste to add the address to
the appropriate contact record?

True I didn't make it explicit. In answer to your question, because that is a
total pain and in Lotus Notes, there is a function allowing you to add in
email addresses into contacts which you already have without
cut/paste/find/open/save. Does this exist in Outlook?

As far as I know, it doesn't. You can open the message, right-click the
address and choose Add to Contacts, but you'll get another contact record.
It won't update the existing one.
