Version: Older version
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC
Email Client: pop

I'm trying to import my info from the old 2001 version of Entourage to the new 2008 Entourage.
The set up assistant can't seem to do it, nor the import function.
When I try to choose the old version of E to import from, it shows as grayed out and I can't select it.

Any ideas??
Thanks so much

I'm trying to import my info from the old 2001 version of Entourage to the new
2008 Entourage.
The set up assistant can't seem to do it, nor the import function.
When I try to choose the old version of E to import from, it shows as grayed
out and I can't select it.

MSFT choose not to support the older versions for import into Office 2008.
You have two options:

1) use Apple Mail to import from 2001 then import from Mail to Entourage
2008.

2) In Entourage 2001, export your messages by dragging each folder to the
desktop as MBOX files. You can export your contacts under File --> Export.
Select as tab delimited file. More details:

How to manually move your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move
to a new Identity same version or revert to an older version)

Let me know if you have questions.

Thank you!

While I was trying again I just realized that my version is 2001, but also version X...so, my lucky day; choosing that version to import from worked!
Thank you for your help.
