Importing Excel 2003 to Access 2007 problems

When I try to import one of my old Excel files into Access 07, I get through
the wizard fine until I have to name the new table. It will not accept
anything I type in. I get an error message that says
"is not a valid file name. The quotation mark is part of the error message.
It doesn't pick up the name I have typed in. This is driving me crazy! I even
saved the Excel 03 file as an 07 file. That didn't work either. Is there
something else I need to download?
