Importing Excel Spreadsheet into Access 97

I have been trying to import data from an Excel spreadsheet into an Access
97 database. The selection box which specifies the source file type does
not include a choice for spreadsheets. I have tried reloading Access, with
all options, but it has made no difference. Can anyone tell me how to
handle this?

Look for the file msexcl35.dll on your hard drive (it should be in the
System folder), and use regsvr32.exe to reregister it.
