Importing existing site from Yahoo Sitebuilder

you can.
most often it's not best to use the import web wizard but in some cases it's
all you've got.

I'm figuring you don't have FrontPage extensions on the site so you can't
simply publish it down to your local machine and work it from there.

Do you have FTP access to the space the site is on?

Depends on if Yahoo support Frontpage extensions. If they have some sort of
site builder (web-based thing), then it seems logical to assume they don't
support Frontpage. Therefore you should be able to connect using a FTP
program like WS_FTP to download the pages to your computer and open them in
Frontpage. (Start frontpage, File > Open Web then browse to the folder
containing your site, usually in a folder like "C:\my documents\my
webs\[webname]" or similar depending on your computer's set up.

Check with the host for FTP information like the FTP:// address or IP etc
for connecting by FTP.

You can then use frontpage to design/redevelop and upload by http: mode to a
server with the frontpage extensions, or FTP mode within frontpage without
the FPSE, or use a third party FTP program.

www.frontpagewiz.com is a good tutorial site for beginners on all aspects of
the program - else visit this newsgroup frequently with any questions.

I don't know about the Yahell's site builder but many of them server
graphics and templates from a third party server. My husband tried one out
for the heck of it offered by one of our webhosts. Made me almost nostalgic
for his normal method of creating a web page - cut and paste from Word.
<shudder />

I have been told that some Yahoo sites do have FPSE installed. It depends on
when you got it and whether or not you are paying for it.
