With your web open: File | Import the files into your web, create a link to
them on a page, publish to the remote server.

Visitors will need to have word (or Word viewer) and publisher installed on
their computer.

Yes, the documents will open in their default applications, provided they
are on the user's system.

Once they are imported, create a normal hyperlink to the files. Upload all
the files (the *.pub, the *.doc and *.html files). Click the link of the
*.doc file - it will attempt to open within Word (if word is on the users
system, otherwise will prompt to download the file if it can't find an
application to open the *.doc file in.

Same with Publisher.

On www.microsoft.com there is a "Word Viewer" that will allow users to view
the Word file (similar to Adobe Acrobat viewer)

I don't know about Publisher files; the user may well need the Publisher
application to view the file, unless you convert the *.pub to *.pdf (modern
versions should be able to do this if you have Adobe Acrobat (full
application), or there are third-party apps to convert to PDF on the 'net.).
