Importing image files

Hi,

I have a user that occationally gets an error message like:

Microsoft Word Err = 1286
The graphics filter was unable to convert this file
(../../../Photos/Fe%20earners/Joanna%...)

When trying to insert a .jpg file into a Word document.
This error does not happen every time. Any ideas what
might be causing this?

We are running Win XP and Word 2000.

Hi Andy,

If it's a particular JPG graphic where this is occuring rather than
sometimes the same graphic works, sometimes not, then it can be that
it's a 'progressive' JPEG, which Word's filter doesn't support.
You might want to try opening it in MS Office Photo Editor and
saving it or using a 3rd party product such as http://www.irfanview.com
(donationware for personal use).
