Importing into Entourage 2008 - Date Loss

Email Client: pop

I have been trying to import emails from my PC into Entourage and while I have success getting the messages and folders to show up in Entourage the problem is with the date and time.

Everything I import gets tagged with the date and time of the actual import. It could be a message from 2002, but after the import it shows up in Entourage with a the current date and time.

This even happens when I import message from Apple Mail. WTF?!

Someone please help.

Sort by Sent not Received.

Diane, are you suggesting that after the import takes place, the "received" date automatically becomes the date and time of the actual import?

And if I changed the view to show "sent" dates then I would be able to see the real dates on these old messages?

Yes. Even if you export a folder as MBOX file and import it back in, it's
the time it was imported that's shown.
And if I changed the view to show "sent" dates then I would be able to see the
real dates on these old messages?

Yup! Try it.
