Importing mail accounts

Hi,

I just installed Office XP 2002, up from 2000. I have
tried to import my mail accounts that I saved in .iaf
files, but when I go to File, Import..., Import Internet
Acct Settings, it immediately says "No internet accounts
found to import"!!! Problem, it doesn't even ask me where
it should be looking for them. Is there a fix or way
around for this?

Outlook 2000 in Internet Mode Only operated more like Outlook Express and I
seem to recall that it allowed export of accounts. Outlook 2002 doesn't
have Internet Mode Only and won't import iaf files.

Outlook 2002 will import account settings only from Outlook Express. It's
far easier, in my opinion, to just create the accounts from scratch within
Outlook.

Thank you Brian...your last assessment is correct; I had begun to seriously
suspect that this was the case. Leave it to MS to ruin a good thing by
getting rid of useful functions or options, which is best followed by "Let's
make people think that it is better by scrambling menus and options around."
